My First Blog On Conference at Manchester #BlogOnXmas

Last weekend I went to my very first Blog On conference, in fact it was my very first blog conference I have attended ever. I really didn’t know what to expect and got really nervous as the day grew closer. My husband went to Manchester with me and I managed to blag myself a hotel stay in return for a review. We arrived on the Saturday, with the conference taking place the nest day. There was a Paladone pre-launch party taking place but I didn’t attend that, as I didn’t want my husband being too lonely over the weekend. LOL.

The Blog On conference has been going for a few years now, but this time they had a change of venue. The #BlogOnXmas was held at Hotel Football, right opposite Old Trafford stadium,. My husband is a big Man United fan so was a little jealous, but wouldn’t admit to it.

The Hotel I was staying at was right next door to Piccadilly station and I had arranged to met up with fellow blogger Lyndsey from Me, Him, the Dog and a Baby and catch the tram to Old Trafford. I am so glad I went with Lyndsey has I had no idea which tram to catch! When we got of the tram we bumped into Cassie from Lily’s Little Learners and we walked to Hotel Football together all pulling along big empty suitcases. Yes, we was all told to bring an empty suitcase. I was a bit sceptical at first I was thinking about just bringing my bag, but I am so glad I took a suitcase as by the end of the day it was filled up with loads of goodies.

The conference had around 200 bloggers attend. The sessions were split over a few floors. I managed to only attend 3 of the 5 sessions I was planning on attending as I got stuck in the basement chatting where all the brands and pr’s where. One of the sessions I went to was on the top floor, called Heaven. And me and a few others got fed up with waiting for the lift so we decided to take the stairs. Big mistake! It was around 10 floors up, and once we had started we realised that the door to the other floors were locked and you needed a card key to open them! So off we went up 10 flights of stairs to heaven and we all almost died when we got there.

During the day I had tea and cake, played a few games with Playtime pr man (he was so fun), impressed with the Grinch who looked like the real thing, elf’s on stilts, chatted to a few other bloggers including Kaiden from A Suffolk Dad, Clare from Mudpie Fridays and Laura from Autumn’s Mummy in a lift.

I managed to talk to most of the brands and pr’s there and it was nice to put a face to some that I have already worked with. I got a few samples and you can see more off these over the next few weeks on my instagram and twitter.

I also took part in the secret Santa. The gift I received was a lovely candle and it seems so nice. So whoever this is from, Thank You so much, I love it.

I also brought some raffle tickets. The raffle had over 200 toys to win so I was glad that I did win something, as I know a few bloggers didn’t win anything. I got a Flush the Loo game, which I have put away for one of the kids Christmas presents.

And at the end of the day we all received a goodie back filled with stuff!

So my very first blog conference was amazing!! I really can’t wait to go again. The next Blog On one is in May, followed by another in September. Don’t know if I can make the May one but I will definitely be going to the one is September. Can’t wait!
