It’s been two month’s since my last review round up post. I have just been so busy through September and just didn’t have time to fit it in. So here’s Octobers review round up with quite a few different items in. It was a mixed bunch of items, some I really loved and other, well, not so much.

Don’t forget, I have a linky at the bottom of this post where you can add your review round up posts. I will try my best to comment on all linked up and share on twitter too.

And on with the first item.

Abakus Hickory Nuts and Abakus Jujube Fruit

I have never heard of either a Hickory nut or a Jujube fruit, so couldn’t wait to try these out. I started with the Abakus nuts. They had a slight roasted earthy taste and I couldn’t make my mind up if I liked these or not. They don’t taste like I was expecting at all. I thought they would taste more like a peanut mixed with a walnut. But they have a very strong flavour and I wasn’t too over keen. Now, I had high hopes that I would like the dried Jujube fruits as they are apparently used in Chinese medicine to treat anxiety and insomnia. Which I have been suffering from both a lot lately. It says on the packet the they are juicy, but I wouldn’t describe them as juicy at all. I didn’t really like them, they had a very strange taste that I cant really describe. But it’s such a shame as these sound like wonder fruit.

My overall rating –

Hello Geronimo Cards

These beautiful card from Hello Geronimo are from the All Wrapped Up range and they feature a penguin, geese and polar bear. Each card is left blank inside for your own message and come with a lovely grey envelope. My favourite is the penguin, I think it is just so cute. They are made from high quality card and are priced at £2.85 each or £7 for a pack of 6. I do think they are a bit pricey, but I also do really love this design.

My overall rating –

Aspire Drinks

This was another that I had high hopes for. Aspire drinks are made with green tea extract, have no calories or sugar. They are a lightly carbonated natural energy drink which can help reduce body fat and cholesterol. These come in 3 flavours, Apple & Acai, Mango & Lemonade and Cranberry. I felt a bit disappointed with these as I just didn’t like the taste, but that maybe because I am not a fan of green tea. The nicest one was the Mango & Lemonade and the worst one was the Apple & Acai. To me it tasted a bit like larger, and I had to check the can that it had no alcohol in. Not a fan, but if you like green tea, you may like these.

My overall rating –

Dermalogica PowerBright TRx Treatment Kit

The Dermalogica range as all kind of different skin treatments, I chose the PowerBright TRx Treatment Kit to try out. This is priced at £30 and includes C-12 Pure Bright Serum 10ml, Pure Light SPF 50 10ml and Pure Night 10ml. To use, you first apply the C-12 serum to uneven skin tone. Wait for a minute after applying and then use wither the Pure Bright or Pure Night serum. I used these product for 2 week in place of my normal skincare products. I did notice a slight improvement in my skin and it look less patchy in colour. Even though I did see some improvement, I still prefer my skin product I normally use. And this is quite pricey for around £30 as this is only the travel size kit.

My overall rating –

Hape Zoo Animals Block Puzzle

I have only just recently been introduced to Hape, and I am really surprise that I haven’ heard about them before. They wooden toys are really great and high quality. This Zoo Animals Block Puzzle, has nine cubes which make 6 different animals pictures. And the fun part about this puzzle is that not all animals puzzle are shaped into a square. the giraffe is long and the crocodile is long. This is suitable for kids age 2+ and is priced at £11.99. I really love this and think it would make a great Christmas present.

My overall rating –

Chapelwood Bumble Bee Bird Feeder

This Bumble Bee Bird feeder from Chapelwood has got to be the most cutest bird feeder I have ever seen! It is made from metal and painted yellow and black and even has cute dangling wings. This is really easy to fill too, just unscrew the top, left the lid open and fill with nuts. As the gaps in this are quite big, you need to use peanuts or large seeds, the smaller seeds will just fall through. This is priced at RRP £6.99. I really love this and he really brightens my garden up.

My overall rating –

Raw Bites

I am always looking out for healthy snacks. Something I can nibble on in the day and in the evening when I am watching telly. So couldn’t wait to try these Raw Bites from Bioglan. I really loved the packaging on these. They come in resealable tubs and in 3 flavours., Ginger & Spirulina, Cacao & Quinoa and Goji & Camu Camu. When I first opened them, I thought, ‘i’m not going to like these’. But was happy to find that I did!! I like all of them, my favourite is the Cacao & Quinoa followed by the Goji & Camu Camu. Could eat the other ones, but wouln’t buy that flavour myself.  I am really impressed with these, but the price does put me off a little. They are £4.99 for a 140g tub or you can get little bags of these which are £1.99 for 40g. Just wish these was a bit cheaper.

My overall rating –

Drink Maple

Drink Maple is just Maple water from the maple tree. that’s it, no other ingredients added. It’s nutritional and mineral rich, it’s gluten free, dairy free, vegan and non-GMO. It sounds perfect. But just one problem. I don’t like it. I really wanted to like this one so much, but I just don’t. My husband on the other hand does like it and says it’s a great for drinking if you have an hangover. Again these are pricey. For a 3 pack of the 250ml cartons they are £5.97, so almost £2 each. For that price I think I would just stick to my water.

My overall rating –

Belvita Breakfast Biscuits

I do love my breakfast biscuits. I know they are not the healthiest option, but they are great when we are running late in the mornings, as we can just grab a pack and eat them as we go. These ones are the Belvita Crunchy range and this is the Choc Chip flavour. There are 3 in a pack. There used to be 4 in a pack, but they have made the new ones thicker. But I still prefer the four pack, as I have a weird thing where I have to eat 4 biscuits, if I eat less or more than 4 it has to be an even number. Yes, I know I am weird. But anyway, these are really nice and there are a total of 6 packs of 3, each in a seal packaging.  These are normally priced around £2.59, so I often buy the shops own brand which is cheaper, or wait until these are on offer and stock up on them.

My overall rating –

Sleek Corrector & Concealer

I got this a while ago, but didn’t try it out before the last review round up post. This Sleek Corrector and Concealer set come in a lovely black case. It contains a corrector, a concealer and a setting powder and it is SPF 15 and not tested on animals. The set comes in 5 different shades, I was set out palette 02, which I think was [perfect for me. I normally just use a concealer, but using the corrector first really made a big difference in hiding my spots and reddish skin marks. The finishing power is lovely and really keeps it in one place. This is priced at £7.99 and is something I would buy again.

My overall rating –

I have been using Regenerate toothpaste for a while now and I really like it. This toothpaste claims to help regenerate tooth enamel and protect the teeth from further erosion. By looking at my teeth, they look the same, and I can’t say whether or not this as actually worked unless I go under a microscope. But I do like the taste of this, and the colour of it is a sparkly ice white, which I really like. It foams up really well and leaves my teeth feeling fresh and clean. This is priced at £10 and is available from Boots and other stores too.

My overall rating –

And that’s it for this month. My favourite 2 items where the Hape Puzzle and the Sleek Corrector & Concealer set. Have you tried any of these yet? Which one do you fancy trying?

And don’t forget if you have any review round ups that you would like to share, link them up below. I will try my best to share them all on twitter too!
