Yesterday, the fantastic author Roald Dahl would have been 100 years old. I was asked to share this post with you on the day to celebrate, but like a doughnut, I got the dates mixed up and thought it was on Friday. I thought it was weird when the school sent all the parents a text message to say that there was some Roald Dahl activities happening at out local library that day. I just didn’t put two and two together. Anyway, better later than never. So today I am sharing with you the brand new book that was released on 11th August called ‘The Gloriumptious Worlds of Roald Dahl’.
The book shares stories from Roald Dahl’s most famous books. Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate factory, The BFG, The Great Glass Elevator, The Witches, The Giraffe and the Pelly and me, James and the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Enormous Crocodile, Esio Trot, The Magic Finger, Danny the Champion of the World, George’s Marvellous Medicine and The Twits. Roald Dahl is considered one of many people’s favourite author of children’s books and it’s no surprise, as all his story’s have a special magic to them. Most of his stories have been made into films, recently a new version of the BFG was on the cinemas. I even remember reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at school when I was in year 3, so I would have been 7 years old. I am now 31 and love getting the books for my children to read. My 6 year old daughter really likes Matilda, both book and film.
The book is a bit laid out like a scrapbook and includes phrases from the stories, illustrations from Quentin Blake and little facts bout Roald Dahl that you never knew. This is a great book for any Roald Dahl fan and would make a lovely present or keepsake.
The book is priced at £16.99 and is available from all good book shops and online stores and also at www.carltonbooks.co.uk

This is definitely a book I need for my girls! Thanks for sharing with #ReadWithMe
That really looks like a lovely book. Neither my husband or brother really read as kids, but they would both read Roald Dahl! I think that proves what an incredible author he was.
This looks like such a fab book. I did a Roald Dahl related post this week too, he is still such a legend even after all these years. I have such fond memories of reading his books as a child and hope to share them again with my little boy once he’s a bit older.
I think I want this book for myself though! #readwithme
