I had never heard of Planete Chocolat before until I was asked if I would like to review them. I love my chocolate, so there was no way I was going to turn them down. Planete Chocolat are based in Brussels, Belgium and only sell the finest Belgian chocolate made from 100% pure cocoa butter, without conservatives or GM foods. The best thing about this company is that they deliver all over the world! And for us in the UK we can get next day delivery!

I choose the Luxurious Heart Shaped Chocolate Box. You can get one tier that contains 17 chocolate for 44,99€ which is around £38 or a two tier one with 36 chocolates for 67,35€ which is around £56. When they arrived by courier I couldn’t wait to open them and try them out. The chocolate came in a love brown velvet back with a little gold envelope with a little message card, along with the box of chocolates.

First Impressions

The chocolates looked gorgeous and every single one was different. I was a little disappointing to find that I had a big thick box but with only 1 tier of chocolates. underneath was just cardboard. But the box is very pretty so I will be keeping it to store some of my bits and bobs in. I couldn’t wait to get stuck in, but to my surprise there was no leaflet or booklet telling me what each flavour of chocolate was. So it really was like mama use to say ‘life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get’ (obviously that is a quite from the film Forrest Gump). It felt a bit strange eating each chocolate not knowing what was inside and trying to guess what each one was.

Tasting the chocolates

I went for the bright red one to start with. It was really gorgeous, It tasted lovely, like raspberries. The other flavours that I guessed where a coffee one, Turkish delight, and caramel. They where all nice and filled with ganache. You could really tell that these were luxury Belgian chocolates, but still unsure of what the flavours actually where. Even though they where really nice I think they are bit expensive for what you get. But I think I would have enjoyed them a bit more if I knew what was inside each one.

  2. They look delightful
Never heard of them before or tried them
    Love the white chocolate hearts
    I’d try these first

  3. I’ve never heard of Planete Chocolate, and I would be a little disappointed if I had paid that much and not got a guide card!

  4. They look lovely but I agree with you, you need to know what you are eating! I’d be terrified i’d get the coffee flavour (I hate coffee flavour) or terrified someone else would get the praline (my ultimate favourite)
