I love buying my kids activity books and Orchard Toys have a great one called – Things to Do, Sticker activity book. This book is suitable for children aged 5+ which is great, as often most. It is priced at ยฃ3.99 and has 24 fun pages to complete.

My youngest two kids have been fighting over who was going to have this. So I have had to buy another one, so they could each have their own. But I have put them both away for now as we are going on holiday next week to Butlins in Skegness and we take the train there. So to stop them from being bored, we will be taking these along to keep the occupied.

These kinds of books would be perfect to keep your kids quite for a few minutes during this half term. Or if like me you are of on holiday, these are the perfect companion for kids while travelling.

  1. Lots of paper pencils and crayons
We like drawing and noughts and Crosses
Game boy and apps download on my phone and reading books too

  2. My son always brings his Leappad, it keeps him busy on the airport, on the plane and early in the morning at our destination. He has to remember his headphones so he doesn’t get at other people’s nerves playing it.

  3. Well, sticker and colouring books are an absolute must of course. After that, the most important thing is probably the swimming costumes — swimming is always high on their list of things to do on holiday.

  4. Small toys/games (travel size but none with tiny pieces like scrabble, that will end in tears!), perhaps a doll or action figure, cartons of drink, mini snacks (like fruit bags, bananas, mini bags of biscuits), a bucket and spade if seaside bound, swimming floatables, a few favourite DVD’s and books, and definitely the favoured bears/cuddly items for bedtime.

  5. A sketch pad with crayons, my 5 year loves to draw. I download some new apps and games on the tablet that she hasn’t seen before and if we are flying, if she’s been well behaved she is allowed a magazine for the journey from WH Smiths.

  6. My car kid pack includes a reading book, colouring book, pencils, crayons, tissues, sweets, drinks, a small pillow and cover

  7. My grandson is still quite small, but in anticipation of travel, sickness etc, I am making him and I SPY quilt. So he has something snuggly, but will have lots of different fabric on it with different images so he can play I Spy anywhere.

  8. Papers pencils colours story books activity books toys games and tabs with downloaded games and rhymes snacks (sigh) so many things to keep them occupied
