Eating Low FODMAP Food Can Help with IBS Symptoms

We all know we should eat an healthy diet but having a little treat now and again wont hurt us. But for some people , especially those use suffer from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) eating certain foods can trigger their symptoms off. These can include bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhoea and constipation. A low FODMAP diet has been proven to help sufferers of IBS.

What is FODMAP?

FODMAP stands for Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols. There are molecules found in carbohydrates which some people can find hard to digest, leaving them with horrible symptoms. Here is a list of foods that are low in FODMAP, so if you suffer from IBS or have similar symptoms, then try eating more of what is on this list.
