Are you thinking about a week away? Why not visit Hemel Hempstead

Go Skiing

Hemel Hempstead is home to The Snow Centre, Britain’s newest indoor ski centre. A great day out for all the family where you can not only enjoy learning to ski but also snowboarding and sledging. With a massive 160m slope!

Extreme Sports

XC as everything you need for an adrenaline rush. Skate park, climbing wall, high ropes and caving system. If this is too extreme for you, then you can sit back and watch the kids enjoy themselves while you have a nice coffee and bite to eat in their cafe

Warner Bros. Studio Tour

Not too far a way is the Warner Bros. Studio, where you can go behind the scenes of the Harry Potter film and also see the Hogwarts Express. You can try out green screen technology and have a go at riding on a broomstick and buy authentic Hogwarts jumpers from the Studio shop.

Visit a Farm

Willow Farm Park is a great place to take the kids where they can feed the cows, pick vegetables, go on a tractor ride and watch some fun shows. This is something the whole family can enjoy.

Visit a Museum

20 minutes drive from Hemel Hempstead is the Natural History Museum and entry is free! Come and see how big polar bears really are, the Thames whale and the Cassowaries – the big bird in the kids film ‘UP’.

Where to stay

There are plenty of lovely hotels around Hemel Hempstead to stay like the Holiday Inn. Which also has its own pool so you can have a nice relaxing swim after visiting all the attractions. Followed by a nice glass of wine in their bar to end your day.

  1. Thanks for this – we go to HH a lot to snowboard, but didn’t realise there were so many kids’ attractions nearby too. When our nieces are settled, we plan to take them abroad on a snowboard holiday with us and were going to have them visit us first for a trip to the HH snow centre – now, we’ve got a lot more things to do for our list for that day out! I’m sure they’d love the Farm and the Harry Potter – thanks so much for the advice!!
