Did you know that may was national share-a-story month?  The Works have created some fun images of traditional fairy tales and made them modern. Like the image below, If Romeo and Juliet was alive today and on facebook, their relationship status may be listed as ‘It’s Complicated’

Romeo & Juliet

What would modern fairy tales be like in this current year? Along with online dating dramas and princess selfies, the whole idea of a fairy story would be different. Would there really be ‘the one’ for the princess, or is she actually living in a dream world. Maybe like the movie Frozen, people’s one true love may not end up being their prince charming, maybe it’s their brother or sister.

Nowadays is there really such thing as true beauty? Or is everyone making themselves up to look like the ‘perfect’ image. Would Rapunzel really have long natural blonde hair that goes on and on? Or would she just add-on some hair extensions?

  1. i would buy craft stuff for my fiance who makes greetings cards to sell and then donates money to birmingham childrens hospital

  2. I would buy the Ravensburger Tatty Teddy Jigsaw Puzzle – 1000 Pieces and the Disney Frozen 2 Book Bundle!

  3. I would buy Disney Princess – My Favourite Princess Tales for my daughter and Disney Infinity Essential Guide for my son!

  4. Alot of art supplies & stationary! I would definitely get a new notebook to keep all my important notes, and some smooth writing pens!

  5. I would buy a book called A History of Birmingham by Chris Upton. Always interesting to know about the history of the city I live in.

  6. I’d treat my little brother to a collection of Roald Dahl books as he is an avid reader, and I’d love him to follow in my footsteps and love in love with Roald’s tales.

  7. I’d bookmarked something a while back that i wanted to order:
The Ultimate Natural Beauty Bible and The River Cottage Year 🙂

  8. I didn’t realise that they sold so many different things. I’d buy the I Love You To The Moon Plaque and the Blue Sheep Door Mat. Thanks for the lovely giveaway. x

  9. my little one is loving Home at the mo, so id buy her the Home – Sticker And Activity Pack, and the Home – Welcome To Our Planet Sound Book. and id treat myself to an adult colouring book, the Art Therapy – An Anti-Stress Colouring Book xxx

  10. I’d almost certainly end up spending it on some books for the kids. They’ve got lots of choice there and reasonable prices.

  11. The wooden xylophone & farm contrsuction set from the toy section. Then a book (couldn’t choose which!) xx

  12. I’d buy the 4 Crawford & Black Deep Edge Canvases – 16” x 20”…well, what do you expect..I’m an artist 😉

  13. I like their range of sticker books so my children would get them and probably some children’s books or cook books

  14. I’d buy the remaining three of the A Song of Ice and Fire series that I need to complete the current released of the books. I will be willing to pay £4 easily for the extra book, it’ll be definitely worth it!

  15. I would buy a few of the disney story books for my children, they love the ones we have already bought from there.

  16. I would probably buy a couple of Mary Berry cookbooks, maybe Cook Now, Eat Later, and Mary Berry Cooks the Perfect…

  17. I’m undecided how I feel about it – on one hand they are quite funny and have a modern appeal, on the other I feel traditional fairy tales should remain just as that.

As for what I would buy from The Works – got to be books 🙂

  18. I’d buy a Minion pencil case, some Minion stationery for my daughter & the Minion umbrella for my son if I won 🙂

  19. I think I would put it towards A Song Of Ice And Fire – 7 Book Box Set With Westeros And Free Cities Poster Map. I’ve wanted to read this for quite a while but cannot justify spending that much on myself. 🙂
