Memories define us.
So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep?
Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love—all forgotten overnight.
And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story.
Welcome to Christine’s life.
This is the first book by S J Watson and I can’t wait to read his second novel. This book tells the story of Christine who everyday wakes up with no memory of her life. She doesn’t remeber anything from after her ‘accident’ over 20 years ago. She everyday when she wakes up she is expecting to see a 20 something year old women instead of herself as she is now.Everyday her husband Ben, has to explain to her what happened, her accident, how she had a son and how he died. She can’t even remember Ben and finds it hard to love a man she feels like she as only met that day.But secretly, without Ben know, Christine starts to see Dr Nash. He believes he can help Christine and gives her a journal to record her everyday events. Dr Nash as to call Christine everyday to remind her to look in her journal, which is often hard for Christine, as she can’t remember anything.
There are lot’s of twists and turns in this book, that kept me guessing what would happen next. And every time I thought I had it worked out, I was proven wrong. Which is not common for me, so this book really had me gripped to it and I found it really hard to put down.
I won’t give anymore information away to the story but it is brilliant. This is now my new favourite book of all time!! I can’t wait to read Watson’s second book.
Also going to watch the film, but I hope it doesn’t disappoint as the book is just so good.
The movie of Before I Go To Sleep, starrring Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong, is due for worldwide release in Autumn 2014. Watson’s second book is out in Spring 2015.
