This mash was delicious!!!
The apple really made a difference. I really enjoyed it, but the kids weren’t that keen. They said they didn’t like it because it was lumpy. They ate all their peas, sausages and onion gravy though.
sausages ( I used Quorn sausages)
1 large onion
2 tsp plain flour
1. Peel the potatoes and place in a large pan of water, bring to the boil then simmer until just tender. Meanwhile cook your sausages.
2. Melt some butter in a frying pan then add your sliced onions and cook until soft. Stir in flour and stock to make the gravy (or cheat like me and add hot water and gravy granules). Place in to a jug and keep warm.
3. Add a little more butter to the frying pan and cook the chopped apples for 5 minutes. Drain the potatoes and add the apples and mash together. Add some more butter and a bit of milk too.
Then serve with the sausage, peas and onion gravy
This is a really great comfort food recipe and also a recipe that is really easy and simple to make.
